Extract from "The Muslims' Sojourners"
You are a muslim, and
Yet you act like a Kafir
You read the Qur'an and yet You are most ignorant of it
You claim to love Allah
But you follow tooghuut
You read the Qur'an
Yet don't strive to know it's meaning
You memorize the Qur'an
Yet it has less Impact on your life
You observe fasting
Yet you keep malice
You love. Al-Jannah
Yet you work towards Jahannam
You are Abd-Razak
But you prefer being called Rosko
You are Maryam by name
But you prefer being called Becky.
You are a Muslimah
But yet you are dressed like a prostitute
You want to dwell in paradise But Solat you eschew
You are a wealthy mustin
But you hate paying zakat
You are a millionaire
But on hajj you procrastinate
You do not want to die
But you want to enter paradise
You claim to be a Sheik, on 'Aalim
But you are the most ignorant
You call yourself a Saint
But you are the most tainted
Who do you think you are?
A quintessence of dust!
You want to prosper
But you engage in Ribba
You love to enter paradise
But without being tried by Allah.
You do not practice the Sunnah of Muhammad (SAW)
And you mock those who do!
Who do you think you are
A fool, who doesn't want to learn
You have the prophet's Sahabas & Righteous Muslims
But R-kelly, Jey-C, Messi ---- are your role models
Maryam, Khadijat, Aisha, these are muslimah Saliha"
But Beyonce, Rihanna, Genevieve are you icons
Who then are you deceiving
We or your moronic self
I am a muslim, but only by name
In words and deeds, Islam I defame
Being sunnatic makes me lame And deprives me access to mary a dame
With whom I love to play the game
Islam denies me some pleasures
All in the name of external treasures
The veracity of which I doubt, And for this I'm called a tout
AKeeping my beard makes me local
And portrays me as being fanatical
Many an islamic rule I break
The female folks I always shake
I adorn my body with tattoo and necklace,
Plait my hair and bleach my face
My trousers I freely Sag
Even if the tip of it becomes like a ra and
I prefer to be seen
As one who sweeps Nigeria clean!
I am a Nigerian Muslim
And for Muslim elsewhere my love dim
I'm not a muslim living in Nigeria
I'm not the brother of those in Asia
I am Ibraheem among the brothers
But Ibro in company of others The believers I only mimic
I fear being tagged a fanatic; I dread being called an extremist;
I might be labelled a fundamentalist;
If I become a conscious muslim
And worship Allah and not my whim
When in public I'm offered the "Salaam
I feel embarrassed about my Islam
And instead say "what's up, how do you do?.
I am thus a hypocrite with the faces of two
My Solat I seldom observe
Good conduct is all I need to have
Sometimes I even go to church
When life's problems make my faith lurch
All belief system I think are ways
To salvation each religion relays,
For Allah loves variety,
And hates regimental monotony
Subhan Allah! Subhan Allah Hear the blasphemy against Allah
From a professed nonentity
Uttering vulgarity and profanity
Man a product of filthy days
To live today and die the next day,
Should make repentance towards his Lord,
Who with the word created the world
Islam the only way to eternal succour
Others lead to Jahanam come torture
Please do cling to the Qur'an and sunnah
Or prepare your mind to be a loser
